AY Telstar

A minor facelift – featuring a new grille – a standard driver’s airbag and more standard features arrived with the AY series.

But déjà vu struck for Telstar fans as Ford began to slowly phase out the 2.0L sedans and hatchbacks when the more dynamic but less refined HA Mondeo arrived from Belgium during the middle of 1995.

Throughout ’96 only the V6 models remained, until the far-improved HC Mondeo finally lay the badge to rest locally late in that year.
