G10 Charade

"The Car The Computer Created" was Daihatsu’s first foray into the passenger car market since the pretty Compagno models of the 1960s, and trailblazed the light car segment locally.

Already a three-year old abroad, the well-equipped four-seat Charade’s VW Golf-like front-wheel drive and five-door hatchback configuration made it advanced when it arrived here in April 1980, to instant acceptance.

In ascending order, the models were known as XO, XG and XTE.
