LDV launched its first-ever dual-cab pick-up in November 2017, with the Chinese-built T60 having made its debut singularly with a diesel engine and dual-range four-wheel drive, and with two model grades each available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Designed to compete with the Ford Ranger and Volkswagen Amarok, the T60 was built on an entirely new ladder-frame chassis with body dimensions near-mirroring those rivals while shaping up slightly larger than a Mitsubishi Triton and Toyota HiLux.

The Italian VM Motori-sourced 110kW/360Nm 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine motivated the LDV with a kerb weight of between 1950kg and 2060kg. It also permitted a payload of between 815kg and 1025kg, in addition to a 3000kg braked towing capacity.

All variants included four-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-descent control, six airbags, foglights, auto on/off wipers and swivelling LED headlights, cloth seats and a 10-inch touchscreen with twin USB ports and six speakers.

The Pro featured ‘heavy duty’ leaf spring suspension, while the Luxe delivered a softer set-up along with an on-demand rear differential lock, rear sports bar, chrome grille, keyless auto-entry with push-button start, electric-fold and heated door mirrors, leather-wrapped steering wheel, climate control air-conditioning and leather trim with heated and electrically adjustable front seats.
