Fiat Professional released its Doblo light-commercial vehicle near the end of 2014, to compete with rivals such as the Volkswagen Caddy and Renault Kangoo.

The Doblo was released in one long-wheelbase and three short-wheelbase variants, with the base-level SWB model getting a 70kW/127Nm 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine matched to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The other SWB variant was paired to a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel engine that made 77kW/290Nm in manual guise or a subdued 66kW/200Nm with and automatic gearbox.

The largest of the bunch, the LWB maxi used a 2.0-litre diesel paired with a six-speed manual, good for 99kW/320Nm.

Inside, all models were 1305mm high and 1714mm wide, with 1230mm between the wheel arches. The short wheelbase had a load length of 1820mm with a payload capacity of 750kg and 3.4 cubic metres (3400L) of volume.

The long wheelbase had a load length of is 2170mm, while payload capacity was 1000kg and volume was 4.2 (4200L) cubic metres.

Loading access was through sliding doors on both sides of the van and rear doors in the form of side-hinged or a tailgate with a 180-degree opening option.

Standard features across the range included air-conditioning, electric door mirrors, PVC floor and Bluetooth connectivity. Safety equipment included four airbags, plus stability and traction control.
