True keyless open and start to be trialled by Volvo via a new digital phone app25 Feb 2016 - Volvo is developing a phone app that allows for keyless entry, with the company planning to start introducing the system in production cars in limited numbers in 2017, with trials beginning this year. - The driver will only need to carry a phone with the matching app for the car, connecting via Bluetooth, which will also open the boot and allow the engine to be started remotely, as well as turning on functions such as cooling and heating remotely.
