Six-years or 90,000km of capped price servicing for Skoda Australia range

SKODA Australia has rolled out capped-price servicing across its local range, three months after launching the scheme on its new-generation Octavia sedan and wagon, and 10 months after parent company Volkswagen launched its own capped-price offer.

The Czech-based company joins a growing number of brands, mainstream and niche alike, to offer such a scheme to Australian buyers. Capped-price servicing gives customers total transparency on how much each scheduled service will cost for a set number of years, at any official dealer.

Skoda’s plan covers six years of ownership or 90,000km, whichever comes first – the same as VW – and covers all service costs including basic replacement items such as oil filters, engine oil and sump plug washers. The warranty on defective components remains three years/100,000km.

This equates to six scheduled services, given Skoda’s long intervals of 12-months between checkups, and makes it one of the longer policies available, though not as long as Mazda’s recently launched life-of-vehicle offer.

The offer applies to all vehicles sold from February 8, or all new-generation (non-RS) Octavias sold from November 1 last year, The service prices over six years/90,000km for each Skoda model are as follows: Fabia ($2398), Fabia RS ($2951) Octavia RS diesel ($3020 DSG, $2657 manual), Octavia RS petrol ($3201 DSG, $2838 manual) new-gen Octavia ($3020 1.4 petrol DSG, $2657 1.4 petrol manual, $2838 1.8 petrol DSG, $3201 2.0 diesel DSG).

The Yeti costs $2635 in base 1.2 front-drive guise, while the all-wheel-drive 1.8 petrol ($3215 DSG or $2838 manual) and 2.0 diesel ($3054 DSG or $2678 manual) versions cost more. Finally, the Superb costs $2838 over six years or 90,000km in 1.8 petrol form, or $2899 for the 2.0 diesel.

The Roomster minivan is not included as it has been discontinued.
