Another 100 Evos lob Down Under

Mitsubishi announces the arrival of another batch of Lancer Evo VIII rally rockets

2 Mar 2005

THE second batch of 100 Lancer Evolution VIIIs to be imported by Mitsubishi under SEVS (the Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicle Scheme) has just arrived in Australia.

The second Evo VIII shipment is exactly the same specification as the first, which sold out rapidly - as are the colours and pricing. Mitsubishi’s Ralliart dealer network already holds orders for most cars.

Lancer Evolution VIII is powered by a 4G63 2.0-litre DOHC intercooled and turbocharged four-cylinder offering 195kW at 6000rpm and 355Nm of torque at 3500rpm and driving through a full-time all-wheel drive system that features Mitsubishi’s Active Yaw Control and electronically-controlled Active Centre Differential.

Evo’s colour palette remains the same – white, silver, blue, red, yellow and black – and the car comes with Data Dot security identification system and fabric covered Recaro seats as standard, with leather being an optional extra.

Pricing is unchanged at $61,990, with leather trim costing an additional $3000.
