Toyota interior parts-maker shutters doors

Parting ways: Toyota Boshoku Australia will shut its doors on October 3 to coincide with Toyota Australia’s final local day of manufacturing.

- TOYOTA Boshoku Australia has announced it will close its local manufacturing operation in Laverton North in Melbourne’s west on October 3, the same day the last Camry will roll off the production line at Toyota Australia’s Altona plant.

- A member of the Toyota Group – a coalition of companies that shares a working relationship with the Japanese car-making giant – Toyota Boshoku Australia has produced automotive interior components since its local inception in 2002 and currently supplies seats and door trims, along with other interior hard and soft trims (excluding the instrument panel and console), for the locally built Camry and Aurion.
