Volvo XC90 reveal imminent

VOLVO has released a teaser video promoting the upcoming world premiere of what is widely believed to be the all-important second generation XC90 SUV.

The video, found at leavetheworldbehind.com, features a quick glimpse at a vehicle from afar that appears to be an SUV.

Sketches of possible designs for the new XC90 were released by Volvo in late 2011 and hint at a similar look to Volvo’s Concept You from the Frankfurt motor show of the same year.

More information will be available when the mystery model is unveiled at the world premiere this Friday 17 May.

Lamborghini Urus is go for 2017

LAMBORGHINI’S wild Urus SUV will apparently go into production in 2017 after Audi CEO Rupert Stadler reportedly mentioned it at a gala celebrating the Italian supercar-maker’s 50th anniversary world tour.

The news came via a tweet from the editor of UK motoring publication EVO, Harry Metcalfe, who was at the event.

Unveiled at last year’s Beijing motor show, the Urus will allegedly be powered by an Audi-sourced twin-turbo V8 and have permanent all-wheel drive.

The confirmation comes after Mr Stadler told Autocar in March this year that Lamborghini “has to” produce the Urus, adding that it was likely to show up sometime in 2017.

Entire Porsche line-up to go hybrid PORSCHE has reportedly confirmed plans to build a hybrid variant of each model in its line-up, including the 911, adding to the existing Cayenne and Panamera hybrids, plus the forthcoming Macan SUV.

Autocar reports that company spokesman Daniel Semmer revealed the future plans at Porsche’s Panamera Hybrid technology workshop, adding that the Volkswagen-owned brand has built a hybrid module that will be compatible with all Porsche models.

Hybrid versions of the 911, Cayman and Boxster are likely to appear in the next generation of each car, which are some years off.
