Public support for user-pays road funding

- A transport revolution in how Australian roads are used and funded will be here by 2020 and governments and the transport industry need to start investing now to ensure all the benefits are captured to produce the most efficient possible road network, a leading road operator says.

- And a trial in Victoria has shown the road-using public is up for a major element in the revolution: a change to user-pays road charging, Transurban chief executive Scott Charlton told the ITS World Congress in Melbourne this week.
