New overseas role for Aussie Ford executive

Day moves from Ford’s AAT JV in Thailand to Silverton plant chief in South Africa

EXPAT Australian and Ford veteran Tim Day has taken another step in his distinguished career as an international automotive manufacturing executive, taking on the position of plant manager at Ford Motor Company’s Silverton assembly plant in Pretoria, South Africa.

 

Mr Day was previously executive vice-president of manufacturing at Ford and Mazda’s Auto Alliance Thailand (AAT) joint venture, which builds the Australian-developed Ranger ute and Everest SUV for the South-East Asian and Oceania markets, and where his responsibilities included both powertrain and vehicle assembly.
