TOYOTA has introduced a limited-issue eight-seater LandCruiser Prado "Pilbara" variant.
Australia's number one car-maker claims that the Prado limited-edition is fitted with $6300 worth of extras for an additional $3820 on the recommended retail price.
Limited to 500 units, the Pilbara is based on the Prado GX model and is priced from $47,990 for either the petrol or turbo-diesel variant.
Four Pilbara LE models variants will be offered – with the choice of either a 4.0-litre V6 petrol or 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. The petrol comes with a six-speed manual or five-speed auto, while the diesel is available with a five-speed manual or four-speed auto.
Additional exterior items over the GX grade include 17-inch wheels with 265/65 R17 tyres, wide side protection moulding, wide mudguards with overfender flares, side steps, front foglights and driving lamps built into the bumper, body-coloured exterior door handles and body-coloured wide bumpers.
Prado Pilbara also has roof rails, a unique Pilbara decal, chrome exterior mirrors and a chrome radiator grille.
Prado Pilbara buyers also have the choice of metallic paint at no additional cost and, inside, additional features over the GX include a leather steering wheel and gearshift knob, chrome door handles and Prado accessory floor mats.
All Prado Pilbara models have air-conditioning, cruise control, and ABS anti-skid brakes with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) as standard equipment.
