$1000 lopped off the opening price for Haval’s H2 and H6 SUVs

9 Jul 2018

HAVAL Motors Australia has dropped the price of entry to its two most popular models, the H2 crossover and H6 mid-size SUV, by $1000 apiece.

The H2 is now priced at $22,990 driveaway for the entry-level Premium, making it one of the most affordable small SUVs on the market alongside the base variant Suzuki Vitara that shares identical pricing.

Mazda’s CX-3 starts at $20,490 and the MG ZS kicks off from $20,990, but they both exclude on-road costs.

This marks yet another price drop for the H2 that launched in late 2015 with a starting price of $26,490 excluding on-road costs.

It is powered by an 110kW/210Nm four-cylinder 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paried with a six-speed automatic that drives the front wheels.

Standard gear in the H2 Premium includes 18-inch alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, reversing camera, rear parking sensors, auto headlights and wipers, and keyless entry and start.

Pricing for the mid-size H6 has dropped to $28,990 for the Premium, which launched with a $31,990 excluding on-road costs pricetag in September 2016.

The H6 is powered by a 145kW/315Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a six-sped auto, and it is offered with blind-spot monitoring, keyless entry and start, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and dual-zone climate control as standard.

Sales of the H2 and H6 have dropped by 40.6 and 33.9 per cent respectively to the end of June this year, compared with the first six months of 2017, but they are still the Chinese SUV specialists’ best sellers.

It is a sharp turnaround from 2017 when the H2 and H6 ended the year with 297 (+125%) and 308 (+440%) sales respectively.
