Haval's debut into the Australian market mid-year will bring with it the H2 small-sized SUV. Packed with premium features including rear parking sensors, sunroof, heated seats, satellite navigation and keyless start, the H2 could turn into a bit of a bargain for small SUV buyers.

Expected to arrive at the tail-end of the year, BMW’s next-generation small-sized SUV will bring better fuel economy and more refinement to the range.

Model: Fortuner

Released: Oct 2015

Based on the new Toyota HiLux, the Fortuner will be a high-riding wagon SUV, competing against the likes of the new Ford Everest and Mitsubishi Challenger. Although scant details are available, expect to see similar powertrain options as the HiLux when the Fortuner joins the Toyota SUV family in 2016.

Audi is set to take on the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG with its high-performance RS3. Based on its A3 sportback, the RS3 will pump out 270kW/465Nm and can dash from 0-100km/h in just 4.3 seconds.

Maserati launched its updated four-door flagship Quattroporte sedan in October 2015, which included a new twin-turbo V6 entry-level model. The top-spec GTS gets a twin-tubro V8, good for 390kW/650Nm.

Model: H8

Released: Oct 2015

Haval's introduction to the Australian market will see the H8 large-size SUV as part of its initial wave of models. Roughly the size of a Jeep Cherokee, the H8 will compete in the segment armed with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Haval's flagship SUV will arrive with the first wave of Chinese-branded cars in the tail-end of 2015. The Toyota Prado-sized seven-seater will be powered by a 160kW/324Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and is expected to receive more powerplant options down the track.
