Skoda teases Kodiaq again

Bears resemblance: The Kodiaq’s grille and C-shaped tail-light carries the styling signature worn by all Skodas of recent years.

September 1 confirmed for Skoda Kodiaq reveal in Berlin – at last

11 Aug 2016

SKODA is keeping the protracted Kodiaq publicity mill turning with a series of teaser shots released ahead of the large SUV’s official world premiere in Berlin on September 1.

In the build up to the first glimpses of undisguised Kodiaq parts, the Volkswagen-owned Czech car-maker has already touted sketches, a computer rendering, a vehicle covered with a sheet, another in disguise and even a version wearing a different costume at the Tour de France, in a campaign that reaches back to February this year.

For the latest instalment in the lingering crusade, Skoda has not confirmed any further technical details but has offered a view of the Kodiaq grille that bears a resemblance to the rest of the Skoda family, sharp angular wheel design, a tail-light and side windows.

According to a short release that accompanies the images, the Kodiaq will have LED headlights, a 360-degree camera system and flexible five- and seven-seat configurations.

Like Audi’s related SQ7, the Kodiaq will also have towing assistance systems that helps drivers manoeuvre a trailer or caravan in reverse and can even spot obstacles behind the trailer.

Skoda’s Connect mobile online services will give owners of the Kodiaq access to online information and entertainment features, as well as the Care Connect services that can automatically engage emergency services if an airbag is deployed.

After its Berlin exposure, the all-new model will make its public debut at the Paris motor show in late September.
