Sydney show: Pug 207 slinks in

Slinky: All-new 207 arrives here in March alongside the smaller 206.

Two new Peugeots land in Sydney direct from their Paris motor show world debuts

27 Oct 2006

PEUGEOT flew in not one but two high-profile vehicles directly from the Paris motor show for yesterday's Sydney motor show opening.

Leading the French maker’s exhibit is the all-new 207 hatch, which will be sold alongside the much smaller 206 hatch, Peugeot’s best-selling model ever, from around March 2007.

No pricing was forthcoming from Peugeot, but Australian 207s will be powered by a 1.4, 1.6 and 1.6-litre turbo petrol engines co-developed with BMW, plus a 1.6 HDi turbo-diesel.

Also direct from Paris is the 307 Hybride HDi Diesel, which is claimed to provide a 30 per cent improvement in fuel economy over a conventional vehicle, along with 25 per cent better economy than a petrol hybrid vehicle.
