NISSAN has revealed a smidgeon more of its new compact crossover concept one week out from its debut at the Sao Paulo motor show in Brazil on October 28.

This second teaser image gives a clearer view of the grille with its Nissan family design, in line with other SUVs from the Japanese manufacturer such as the Pathfinder and X-Trail.

Shut lines on the rear three-quarter flank indicate a five-door hatch layout, with a short rear overhang.

While speculation suggests the new vehicle could point to a replacement for the British-made Juke, Nissan is keeping its cards firmly against its chest.

Nissan has opened a new design centre in Brazil, and it is possible the concept vehicle is the first product to be penned there.

Brazil is an emerging global design centre, with vehicles such as the Chevrolet/Holden Colorado developed there.

The South American nation is also one of the world’s most promising emerging motor markets, despite a recent slump in sales due to an economic downturn.

Renault-Nissan Alliance CEO Carlos Ghosn – born in Brazil – remains bullish on the Brazilian market, telling reporters recently that it was “far below its potential”.
