Maserati caves in on customer demand for a conventional automatic transmission

13 Apr 2006

MASERATI will add a conventional automatic transmission into its Quattroporte model range after complaints from customers about the existing semi-automatic gearbox.

Maserati chief executive Karl-Heinz Kalbfell revealed to overseas media last week that the Ferrari-developed six-speed electro-hydraulic "DuoSelect" transmission – which operates like a clutchless manual – would continue to be offered when a new fully automatic gearbox is introduced next year.
