Geneva show: Kia searches its Soul

New Soul: European-targeted small hatch is on Kia Australia's wish-list.

Kia presents three takes on its forthcoming Soul small city-hatch at Geneva

KIA has presented its new Soul small city hatch in three forms at the Geneva motor show.

The tall five-door hatchback, which is on the wish-list at Kia Australia, was presented in concept car form in Switzerland last week.

A production version will be revealed at the Paris motor show this October, although that car is unlikely to change much from the vehicles shown in Geneva.

The three Geneva cars were called the Soul Burner, Soul Searcher and Soul Diva.

Each had a different design theme ranging from top muscular Burner, the adventure-themed Searcher and the glitzy gold-wheeled Diva.

Kia did not discuss the mechanical details of its new car that is aimed specifically at boosting its European sales, but the original concept car ran a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that fed its power through the front wheels.
