Hyundai reveals its first hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle - the i-Blue

7 Sep 2007

HYUNDAI will use the Frankfurt show to unveil its first-ever model designed from the ground up to incorporate fuel-cell technology.

Dubbed the i-Blue, the hydrogen-powered zero-emissions concept car was developed at the South Korean manufacturer’s design and technical centre in Chiba, Japan.

It is built from an all-new platform designed to incorporate Hyundai’s third-generation fuel-cell technology, currently being developed at the company’s Eco-Technology Research Institute in Mabuk, Korea.

Unlike its predecessors, which were built on SUV platforms, the i-Blue uses a new 2+2 crossover utility vehicle body configuration.
