The reclining mechanism is the standard Japanese ratchet-style that doesn't allow the fine adjustment available in most European cars. A higher-quality grade of velour is used in the Classic model, while the upmarket Luxury model is trimmed in leather. Mazda claims that differences in the seat cushion give the Tribute better lateral support than the Ford Escape.
