The front-drive Prelude coupe was the first popular Honda to showcase VTEC engine technology, with the VTi-R version producing 142kW from 2.2-litres. The combination of a shark-like nose and rabbit-eared rear end gave styling appeal. 96kW and 118kW engines were also available.
