THE radio frequency remote control key/fob operates the central locking for keyless entry and the door deadlocks, as well as turning on the interior dome light when the car is unlocked. The boot and the fuel filler flap operate off the central locking system, which means they are locked or unlocked in accordance with the doors, although the boot can also be operated separately by using the lock in the tailgate. The key has a rolling security code, while the lock cylinder in both the ignition barrel and the driver's door will "freewheel" if anything other than the correct key is inserted. An audible warning will sound if the key is left in the ignition when the driver's door is opened. The engine is immobilised automatically when the key is removed from the ignition.
Did you know?Sound system status (radio band, station number and frequency, etc) is located in the dash-mounted multi-function display to separate it from the head unit and therefore deter theft
