FPV's GT-E executive express now delivers force-fed power with plenty of panache

IS THE GT-E the spiritual successor to the old Mercedes-Benz AMG E55?
With an Eaton blower and a quick-witted ZF six-speed automatic gearbox, the 335kW supercharged V8 sedan is at the peak of the Aussie muscle-car pack, yet balances that with a very subtle bodykit and an air of classy luxury designed to appeal to a more conservative (read: less lairy) type of buyer.
If you think all hot local sedans are the same then think again, because this FPV has what it takes to blow both performance and value preconceptions clear out of the water.

Priced from a tad under $80K, the original GT E was FPV’s attempt to get a piece of the executive sports sedan market with a car that did not shout its muscle car performance from the rooftops. So out went the lairy GT-P spoilers, bodykit and stripes, for a sedate – even classy – take on the Aussie performance sedan theme. Under the bonnet was an American-designed but Australian developed and assembled 5.4-litre Boss V8 producing 315kW and 551Nm, and driving the rear wheels via a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox. As befitting a range-topper, equipment levels were generous, and included a high-performance braking package to match the oomph of the loud yet satisfyingly sonorous V8.
