Stand Out Features
20 May 2002
SOME Australian sports sedans rely more on engine performance than others to deliver their knockout punch, but a 250kW engine is not the TS50's only stand-out feature. The locally rebuilt 5.6-litre stroked Windsor V8 produces an astonishing 500Nm of torque (just 10Nm shy of HSV's US-built 300kW performance flagship), but the way in which the agile, Tickford-tuned Falcon chassis claws its power to the ground is an even greater feat. Like all Tickford-built XRs, the TS50's precise and communicative steering is also a highlight, but so too are the standard Tickford brakes.
Did you know?According to Ford, when it comes to TS50's Tickford-built 250kW engine "each of these mechanical masterpieces is hand-built and every engine is engraved with the name of the artisan who brought it to life"
