Audi / A6 / RS6 Avant 5-dr wagon
Overview
AUDI has created the world’s fastest wagon in the RS6 Avant, which runs a storming twin-turbo V10 with 426kW and 650Nm of torque.
Unlike any performance wagon in existence, it can blast to 100km/h in a claimed 4.6 seconds despite weighing more than two tonnes.
Seating five, this ferocious family car will be limited to a small group of wealthy customers given its sticker price of $270,946.
It comes loaded with luxury gear and suspension and brake upgrades, in line with those massive power and torque levels.
Model release dates: October 2008 - November 2010
Previous model
AUSTRALANS had their first taste of the wicked RS6 in 2003, when both sedan and wagon versions became available with a twin-turbo V8 that produced 331kW and 560Nm. The first RS6 was able to surge to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds. Like the current model, the power was fed through all four wheels, which measured a big-for-the-time 19 inches in size. In sedan form it cost $219,570, while wagon set you back $225,100.
