Toyota / Kluger / Grande AWD
By HAITHAM RAZAGUI
THE Toyota Kluger received a mid-life
update earlier this year, bringing a more powerful yet more efficient version
of its 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, further enhanced by the addition of an
eight-speed automatic transmission borrowed from Lexus.
Still no diesel, hybrid
or downsized turbo-petrol in sight.
Most variants, including the
top-spec Grande tested here, get more equipment to go with the mild styling
But prices have risen as well, meaning our all-wheel-drive
flagship variant now weighs in at just under $70,000 before on-road costs –
$10,000 higher than a Kia Sorento GT-Line, $6500 more than a Mazda CX-9 Azami
and $3700 north of a Nissan Pathfinder TI AWD.
Is it worth it?
to find out.
