- THE Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has appointed experienced
Australian vehicle safety engineer Mark Terrell to the newly created position
of chief technical officer, helping drive the independent vehicle safety
watchdog’s strategic direction as it aligns itself with European test protocols.
- Managing the implementation of the common test protocols with Euro NCAP –
which come into effect in 2018 – is a major focus for Mr Terrell, who has moved
to the Canberra-based position after more than two decades working in the
vehicle safety standards branch in the federal department of infrastructure,
which he joined in the mid-1990s as a graduate engineer from the Australian
