Ford and Toyota investigate hybrids that can be plugged in for recharging at home

FORD Motor Company chief executive Bill Ford told shareholders last week that the Blue Oval was working on hybrid vehicles with plug-in capability that would enable owners to use an electrical outlet in their garage to charge the batteries.
Since then, GoAuto has also learnt that Toyota’s research and development division is investigating the plug-in option for future hybrids.
