2009 Volvo S40 2.0D sedan Car Review

Overview

FOR those not up with the line-up from Sweden's biggest car-maker, the S40 is Volvo's small sedan and the V50 is the small wagon - both of which are now more competitive thanks to a more economical new diesel engine.

The new engine is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel which produces 100kW of power and 320Nm of torque.

It comes standard with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic, which allows both the sedan and wagon achieve a combined fuel consumption rating of just six litres per 100km.

The level of standard equipment remains unchanged.

Model release dates: December 2009 - August 2010
