Toyota officially disolves Daihatsu in Australia and announces service network

TOYOTA Australia has created a network of authorised service outlets for Daihatsu following the micro-car brand’s official dissolution in Australia last week.

A network of 86 service outlets made from existing Toyota dealerships and specifically established outlets will support the 25,000-plus Daihatsu owners for parts, service and warranties.

"Customers can be confident of receiving full and ongoing support to facilitate their future driving satisfaction," said Toyota Australia’s executive director of sales and marketing Dave Buttner.

"We are proud of the role that Daihatsu has played in the Australian car market, particularly in the recreational 4WD market, and great consideration was given to the decision to wind down sales."

Toyota Australia has managed Daihatsu since 2000. It decided last year to end distribution following "an intensive study of Daihatsu’s current and forecast performance in Australia and the broader competitive environment".
