2008 Honda Accord Euro sedan range Car Review

THE Accord Euro has proven that Honda’s strategy of offering two distinct models under the Accord nameplate works very successfully.

The new Accord Euro has grown bigger and offers more features for less money.

This combination augurs well for Honda, and the Accord Euro certainly appears the type of economical yet appealing car for Australian families looking to downsize from the traditional big Aussie six,as well as those upscaling their size requirements from the compact hatches.

The first-generation Accord Euro was the first to provide a distinct, smaller and sportier alternative to the mainstream Accord model.

Honda Australia actually convinced Honda head office to have the model - sold elsewhere under Honda’s luxury brand Acura - sold in Australia where it could only be badged as a Honda.

The first-gen Accord Euro was available with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine developing 140kW and 223Nm of torque.

A six-speed manual was standard alongside a five-speed auto option, with prices between $33,990 and $42,990.
