Despite the 200cc increase in capacity and perkier performance, thanks in part to a new VTEC variable valve timing system (which together are said to boost bottom-end performance and therefore standing-start acceleration), official ADR 81/01 fuel consumption drops by half a litre per 100km – from 11.8 to 11.3L/100km. It remains Euro 4 emissions-compliant.
