Honda aims to boost CR-V sales with a value-added special-edition

11 November 2008

HONDA Australia has released a special-edition version of its CR-V compact SUV, which offers a claimed $3000 worth of additional equipment for $1000 above the recommended retail price.

On sale now priced from $32,990 for the five-speed manual version, the CR-V SE adds alloy wheels, reverse parking sensors, roof-racks and foglights. A five-speed automatic transmission costs another $2000.

Honda is using the SE to boost sales of its all-important small 4WD, which according to VFACTS figures released last week is 18 per cent down year-to-date compared to the same period last year.

Last month, Honda recorded 862 CR-V sales, 33 per cent fewer than the 1291 it achieved in October last year.
