Suzuki eyes three million

Swift seller: Suzuki's popular light hatch has boosted sales this year.

Suzuki's new Japanese plant will up its annual capacity to three million vehicles

SUZUKI Motor Corp announced last week that it would build a new production plant in Sagara, Japan.

Once on line during 2008, it will increase the Japanese manufacturer's total annual production capacity to three million units.

This includes 1.24 million in Japan (240,000 of which will come from the new plant) and 1.76 million units elsewhere around the world.

Suzuki's current annual global sales volume is just over 2.2 million.
