Another year, another exciting showing from the world’s largest automotive event. Frankfurt 2015 showcased a swathe of cutting-edge new and future models that captured the imaginations of car fans across the world.

Mercedes-Benz turned heads with their Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile (IAA) concept car, a sleek and aerodynamic machine with an extendible rear bumper that helps reduce wind drag when deployed at high speeds.

Multiple brands announced their first foray into the SUV market, with luxury British brand Bentley showing off its hi-po W12-powered Bentayga, while Jaguar debuted its long awaited F-Pace. Defunct German brand Borgward was also resurrected, bringing with them their BX7 SUV.

But perhaps the most impressive car to debut at Frankfurt was the Mission E concept from local marque Porsche. The all-electric Mission E generates 440kW, can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds, and has a range of 500 km. Furthermore, executives at Porsche say the Mission E is not simply a fanciful concept, but will eventually be made into a production car, possibly as an electric version of its four-door Panamera.

Next on the motor show calendar is the Tokyo show, beginning on the 28th October.
