NEW car sales in Australia dropped by 11.4 per cent in October compared to the same month last year through the combined effects of economic uncertainty, the increased luxury car tax and tightening consumer finance. It is the fourth consecutive month in which sales have dropped, following losses of 2.7 per cent in July, 12.3 per cent in September and 3.1 per cent in September.
