Holden export boost
In decline: GM will make 50,000 fewer large SUVs this year.
GM HOLDEN’S export program into the United States received a boost last week as General Motors decided to reduce full-size pick-up truck and SUV production “in line with market demand”. GM has announced it will produce 88,000 fewer full-size pick-ups and 50,000 fewer full-size SUVs in 2008 as sales of the fuel-thirsty models slide. The move could benefit the smaller Holden Ute-based Pontiac G8 sport truck, which goes on sale in the US late next year. ...continued
