The facelifted Civic Vi hatch saw new bumpers, grille, tailgate, taillights, wheels and cabin trim, while the redesigned headlights and seats were an improvement.
Meanwhile the Thai-built sedan had to wait until March ’04 for its minor front and rear makeover.
At the same time a Japanese-built Civic Hybrid sedan appeared, powered by an Ultra Low Emission 63kW/119Nm 1.3-litre I-DSI VTEC four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor (located between the engine and CVT automatic transmission), that together produces 69kW of power and 146Nm of torque.
Small styling revisions and an aerodynamics-aiding body kit, along with new-design wheels, mark out the five-seat Civic Hybrid sedan.
